We control the ozone concentration of the EXT50 by regulating the Oxygen Flow Rate:

  • The Oxygen Flow Rate: This is the speed at which the oxygen enters the ozone generator.
  • Increase (or "speed up" the flow rate) and the oxygen spends less time in the ozone generator, therefore producing less ozone.
  • Slow down the flow rate, and the oxygen spends more time in the ozone generator, therefore producing more ozone.

**Quartz Glass Note: Only Quartz Glass is pure glass that contains no other materials other than glass (SiO2). All other versions of 'glass' like Quartz Crystal, Borosilicate glass, and others all contain other materials and metals. So....2 things you must do when discussing electrodes:

1/ Make sure if someone tells you they use glass for the electrode, that it is "Quartz Glass" and no other type of glass and that the only material the ozone ever touches is glass (no metals, ceramics, resins, glues, etc).

2/ There are always two surfaces of an ozone electrode, and oxygen runs between these two surfaces. So, if someone tells you they have a glass electrode, make sure BOTH surfaces are GLASS. Why?
